Our Regional Organizers support students across North America with training and tools, and connect them with peers, mentors, and others allies in a solidarity network.
Since launching nationally in the Fall of 2010 with support from Michael Pollan, Bill McKibben, and many others, CoFED has worked with over 40 student teams starting or operating cooperative, sustainable food ventures on their campus. In addition to supporting this ongoing work on university campuses, we’re conducting a pilot program to support healthy food access and enterprise development training at community colleges.
CoFED cultivates a sustainable, community-oriented culture through college campuses. We support and equip emerging leaders to become active owners of thriving, cooperatively-run food enterprises. We strive to incorporate the values of cooperation, empowerment, transparency, joy, and impact in our work.
CoFED unites people who believe in a better future through cooperatives, sustainable food and agriculture, and student empowerment. Our network consists of students, mentors, and CoFED workers in powerful relationships to make this growing movement thrive. The members and mentors actively participate in sharing ideas and learning lessons from others, and Regional Organizers facilitate the network. As our membership grows, CoFED will continue to provide more benefits that tap our common wealth of experience and expertise.
